Analgesic efficacy and functional outcome in refractory cases of plantar fasciitis treated with platelet-rich plasma: randomized comparative study with corticosteroids injection

چکیده
Background Steroid injection is a widespread treatment for plantar fasciitis but seems to be useful lesser extent, Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) injections into the fascia start healing process required stop degeneration of at its root.Aim study To compare analgesic efficacy, functional outcome, degree satisfaction and improvement fascial thickness echogenicity after platelet-rich plasma versus corticosteroids in refractory cases fasciitis.Patients & method 60 patients with who were resistant conservative randomized receive either PRP or steroid injection. All assessed American Orthopaedic Foot Ankle Society (AOFAS) score, Visual Analogue Score (VAS) pain, Roles-Maudsley (RM) echogenicity. Data collected prospectively, pre-treatment, 3, 6, 12 week, 6 months post-injection.Results There was significant both groups as regards clinical outcome measures involving (VAS AOFAS) radiological including (thickness echogenicity) all post-injection times. However, group showed early (at 3rd week post-injection) short duration while weeks till end study. Conclusion The use safer better analgesia than therapy treating chronic fasciitis.

Platelet-rich Plasma Injection for Proximal Plantar Fasciitis
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has generated a significant amount of interest from both the medical community and the mainstream media because of its potential to aid in the healing process. Concentration of growth factors has been shown in animal models to enhance the rate and quality of healing, particularly for tendinopathy. Despite the increase in the use of PRP over the past 10 years, there is...

Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain and can prove difficult to treat in its most chronic and severe forms. Advanced cases of plantar fasciitis are often associated with ankle stiffness, heel spurs, and other conditions and can lead to extensive physical disability and financial loss. Most available traditional treatments, including orthoses, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory dr...

Chronic muscle & tendon injuries are one of the problems which are encountered by human being since last long time. These injuries are generally repetitive strain injuries, commonly found in athletes. There are various treatments which include conservative methods in initial stages to surgery in later stages. متن کاملPlatelet-Rich-Plasma injection seems to be effective in treatment of plantar fasciitis: a case series.
Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain. Diverse non-operative treatment options are available. The purpose of this study was to determine if a single platelet-rich-plasma injection at the origin of the plantar fascia in patients with plantar fasciitis gives a functional improvement. Patients with plantar fasciitis and failed conservative treatment were included in this retrospe...

Purpose The purpose of this study was to assess the safety and preliminary clinical results of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections for treating chronic plantar fasciitis. Methods Fourteen consecutive patients with chronic plantar fasciitis receiving three injections of PRP into the plantar fascia were assessed 12 months after the procedure. The modified Roles and Maudsley score and a visual a...
